Default rubber seal leakage around thermostat

Dear Q5 users:

During my 25K service, the technicians found a leakage on rubber seal around the thermostat area.

Do any of you have the same problems? They said that this is a manufacturer/factory problem. They ordered the thermostat, rubber seal, and the hose for me. It is taking a long time for the order to arrive.

3.2 FSI. Hmm, they replaced your water pump after fail in Feb-2011, makes me wonder if they had it off back then for access.
Either way your Q5 did run low on water at least once in its life which could be a factor.
Thanks for reporting. Its a first.

I have the 2010 audi q5 3.2fsi. During the 8000k tuneup, I had change the plastic water pump to the metal one as per recall. Now they are say it is the factory seal leakage around the thermostat.

I just hope that there will be no more leakage problems in the future.

I wish you are right that it is not regarding their last job in installing the metal water pump. They told me that this gas nothing to do with the last recall. They told me it is the factory that created an effective seal around the thermostat area.
