Default 02111 - Motor for Window Regulator 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

Hi and thanks for letting me in)

Need help with window motor on the rear (driver side) door. It stucked in opened position.

It goes down great but not up (not even click heard). Button light is ok as well. Appropriate button on driver's (front) door also not functioning.

VCDS says:
02111 - Motor for Window Regulator 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

I removed door panel and saw that there are only 2 wires coming to motor. So I reversed polarity and bingo! Now it is vice versa - goes up but not down.

Milage is 70000 km. I checked wiring both in driver ánd passenger's joints - everything looks excellent. Same for wiring in doorstep - no moisture, etc.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Unfortunately electric problems can be difficult to diagnose. If it were still under warranty I'm sure the dealer would just replace the window motor as per the fault text.
That might be your only recourse here as well. Perhaps find one at a salvage yard or one you can return easily if it does not fix your issue.
FWIW the motor itself, amazingly, is relatively inexpensive even at the dealer. ~$100 8K0959811A. I've seen them on ebay at lot lower too and FCP sells one that would have a lifetime replacment warranty.

It's if the control module 8K0959795G is faulty that is price ~$350
Another idea as a long-shot and maybe quiet a bit of effort is try connecting the passenger's side motor. They are different parts for fitment but if you can get the electrical connection to it at least you could then see if the passenger's side motor runs with the driver's side switchgear then you know for sure the driver's side motor is faulty. Heck I might even try rigging up a length of wire from the driver's side motor wiring connector to the passenger's side motor without removing the motors at all...if it works then you can start the r/r of the driver's side motor.

The OP proved that it is most likely not the window motor as he reversed the leads and the window went up, leads in the normal position it went down.

As stated it maybe the control module.

Then maybe try the reverse, run wires from passenger's side connector over to the driver's side motor.

Thanks a bunch guys.
For sure motor is not faulty.
I am thinking of control module as well (in door). Modules in the front are for sure not interchargable between doors, what about rear doors? Is it safe to install rear right module to rear left door to check? (part numbers are not the same)

The most common cause for these kind of issues especially with "Electrical Fault in Circuit" is the connectors. If you have VCDS you can look at live circuit data while you wiggle the connectors one at a time and find the one(s) that need the contacts cleaned.
Sometimes depending on the controller just clearing the code fixes it.
Worth exhausting this first unless you can try a known good used controller before spending $350 for a part you can't usually return.
