Better yet, what can be done at home.

How's this?

I'm sure there are several things you can do at home... but refilling washer fluid is the only thing I can muster up the energy to do.

Well, I had my 15,000 mile service done yesterday. Total was $250. But I had actually saved one of those mailers that Audi sends out and there was a $30 coupon in it that I was able to use. So my out the door total was $225.95, tax included.

The really cool thing is as I was paying, the cashier began to offer me a bottle of water with the Audi logo on it, and since I had just finished a coffee drink I started to decline. Then she explained that inside the label was a $50 coupon for my next visit. And before I could ask, she told me that no, it did not have an expiration date. So considering that I will only have to pay for 2 service visits at the most (I may not even get to the 25,000 before my lease is up and the first was free), not purchasing the Audicare was definitely the right decision for me.

Wow, what a rip off! I am regretting to have bought the maintenance plan.
It is probably an hour of labor for all the checks in addition to an oil change and a pollen filter. I can probably do it myself for $60. My local garage could do it for $100. If I do the math:
15k $100 (Oil change + pollen filter)
25k $60 (Oil Change)
35k $150 (Oil Change + Spark Plugs + pollen filters)
45k $60 (Oil Change)

Total $370

But this is assuming there is nothing wrong in the car. The part I don't understand is wouldn't parts which would have gone wrong be covered by the warranty anyway? Otherwise it is just a bunch of checks I can do myself...
They don't even include the brake fluid flush BMW does every two years to prevent brake lines corrosion.
All the big ticket items are 55k+ miles.

so the cost vs price is about $300 max... which is under 0.7% of the price of the car... a small price to pay to get some peace of mind.

That's why it's called a maintenance plan and not a warranty. Well when they charge something outrageous like 90 bucks for .5hrs of labor you can see how it adds up.

If you bought Audi care after Feb. 2010, it include two brake flushing at 25000 miles and 45000 miles.

It looks like that is covered for anyone who has Audi care. They only specified that your vehicle has to be 2007 or newer.

From what I understand, Audi USA raise the price of Audi care recently to include the two breke flushing. I had Audi care for my 2008 A6 and it did not include the brake flushes.

I'm not sure how they could possibly justify saying it's a comprehensive maintenance plan but say yes some 2010 Q5s will get a brake flush and some won't. That's just asinine. If they want to play that game then why should anyone pay full price to buy it at the dealer when purchasing the car. You might as well sit and wait til your at the 15k service to pick it up in case they add anything.
