I am sure I read about this somewhere else but cannot find the thread.
When I am travelling at around 75-80mph with my foot steady on the accelerator the car seems to accelerate and deccelerate , and if you look at the rev counter the revs rise and fall by around 200-300 rpm.
Does anyone else have this weird behaviour. I read somewhere that the ESP locks and unlocks the brakes when wet to keep the pads and discs dry - surely this wouldnt be happening at this sort of speed. Or it is just wind buffeting the car??
Any ideas before the dealer gets another call.

I have noticed the same thing on my A5 2.0T at around 70mph. It only happens occasionally, and I haven't noticed the revs changing, but I definitely feel a slight alternating acceleration/deceleration at times. I notice if I downshift I can get rid of the effect.
You might want to ask in the A4 B8 forum as well, since that's the model where most people have the 2.0T engine.

thanks guys for the responses..... Car will be going into the dealers for a problem with the rear tailgate, so I will run it past them and see what they say.

I had this exact thing on my A3 2.0T but i know how is called in Hebrew, ill ask my garage for the part name in English if they don’t find the problem in your car.
In my case it took them 3 times to find the damaged component, it’s basically a sensor that is faulty.

I am driving an A5 1.8T and after stage 1 MTM tuning I seem to experience this similar problem. Was told by my dealer that it existed before the tuning except that the tuning amplified it.
Would be really interested in what that sensor is...
