For our 2.0T I am getting only 19 calculated in the city with very short trips. That's a major contributor to the poor mileage. On a long stretch it's close to 27-28. Mixed driving we'll get around 22.5 calculated. My Q has about 9000 on the clock. I hope to see better mileage as the engine breaks in more.

I do 80% - 90% city driving and I have yet to break the 20 overall mpg on my Fuel App. I am usually between 18.5 and 19.8 though.
Hoping to break the 20mpg barrier one of these fill ups!!
Keep in mind: I only have 2500 miles and no road trips or anything yet (I also have Dynamic VAG setting and a heavy foot)

Have just over 3000 miles on mine. I've been getting about 18 mpg with my work commute, 22 mixed. Taking a road trip to AZ next month. Curious to see the numbers on that one.

high teens to low twenties for short trips and "mixed" trips is fairly typical. I've noticed that my 2.0T is extremely (sometimes painfully) sensitive to driving habits. Even moderately aggressive driving brings my A4 down to 22-24mpg on the highway.
Once as an experiment, I tried driving as badly as I can, and netted 13mpg combined (and most of that was thanks to a highway trip, in the city I was easily in the single digits).
If you're an aggressive driver who likes to use your throttle, a small-displacement turbocharged engine might be less efficient than a large-displacement engine. I enjoyed 15-20mpg on my Chrysler 300C AWD with a 5.7L V8, and that was regardless of my driving habits.

I drove from Mass to Florida over the holidays. The Q had 328 miles on it when we left. Upon arrival I hit around 1750 miles. I changed the oil and filter. MPG down was calculated by me not the MMI at 24.3. I drove at various speeds and did the soft break in!! The trip home was much better, higher speed and consistant speed. MPG 27.8 at 75+ mph. No oil consumption on MMI or dip stick. (2.0T, 2012) Mobil 1 0w-40 and Mahn filter. I will change oil again at 5K miles. Also, I run only super unleaded, (Shell, BP etc.) The cold weather and winter fuel in Mass has lowered the MPG.

From SC to NYC, I got 38 mpg. My overall average speed moving was abut 77mph and my overall average was the EPA sticker 36mpg.
I did the drive during the day in 15.25 hours.
Doing the same drive at similar speed, my 2009 3.2 Q5 would get 21-22mpg at those speeds. Drive it slower and it could see 26mpg.
Seems like most of you guys aren't getting good mileage till after 1500 miles or so. I'll keep waiting patiently.

The 2.0T was fine. the car drives well. The break in was changing speed often, no quick start or stops, no reving beyond 3k RPM. The Q is great! We traded my wifes BMW 3 series x-drive with 20K miles as it was hit in the rear hard and was not the same after several repairs. The only issues is the heated seat out-put and Nav maps out dated.
