After some criticism from reviewers of the harsh ride of the Q5, Audi started to offer the S-line models with std. suspension and the S-line suspension as a free option. (At least this is the case in Europe)
I personally opted to keep the Std suspension & Std. 19" wheels; after test driving a car with S-line suspension & 20" wheels.
If you go for Audi Drive select - you get S-line suspension regardless of what you tick in the option list.

i want 20's but have 18's. that said, since we've had such a bad winter and the roads are just horrible i hit a monster of a pot hole last night that would have killed anything with less than a 50 aspect ratio tire.
i think your best bet is to have 18's for winter and get 20's summer use.. that is unless you have year round sun.

The larger the wheel the more responsive the car is to turning. It is also slower to accelerate the wheel due to the added weight. Unless the car is tuned to the wheel tire combo then it can be harsher - I find the ride with 20" to be very comfortable and supportive - compared to the 19" on my RS4

I guess it is all relative. I have a 2005 S4 (18" wheels) and a 2007 Porsche Cayman S (19" wheels) and a 1996 Carrera 4S (18" wheels). I am looking to add an SUV to the stable and the Q5 is on the top of the list.
My requirement, though, is that it have a softer ride than all the above including the S4. I hope I am not making too big an assumption that it does, even with the 20" S-Line version...which is what appeals to me.
Local dealers never seem to have inventory to test drive so until that happens I am still on the fence.
