Sorry to tell you that we use the heated seats in our 2010 Q5 last winter here in the Northeast and we leave it on 6 all the time, its barely hot enough.

Same here. They suck. My Saab got a hellvu lot hotter and the MB I had would burn your *** if you weren't careful. Seems they switched the max high settings after the '09s. I don't even know what the point of the 1~5 setting is. You could leave it on 3 during the summer and not even notice it was on.

Curious if anyone has checked to see if this can be changed via VAG-COM?

Ditto. 2010 Q5 heated seats do not compare to any other vehicle I've owned, there is limited heat even at a 6- if you have any layers on (coat/sweater) you don't even know the seats are heated.

Must have been a lawsuit or a conservative engineer on this one. If I remember, VW had some problems a few years ago with seats causing (supposedly) burns to folks wearing shorts while turning the "heat" up. Whatever...

Is this the same for adjusting heat in the car? I feel like you have to set the temp at 74 deg or higher to get good heat.

I heard that in June of 2009 the change was made for cars made after that date. My 2011 is weak also compared to my other Audi. I drive with the top down all winter and these seats will force me to think about top down driving. My 6 setting is the old 3 in the older Audi. We need a fix!

Have you tried using the Auto setting? I leave it at 70 and it's quite warm and toasty. This is on a 2010, btw.
