3G+ has a slightly tweaked interface and bluetooth streaming for music. It also has Audi Connect (for instance, you can use google maps for the navi, though it's a monthly fee). Audi is putting it on all its vehicles slowly but surely. Unfortunately for the Q5 it's slowly.

In Europe difference is that 3G + is HDD based, have larger, 7inch screen and joystick in the middle of navigation **** (so one on pictures in this thread is 3G +).
Regular 3G is DVD based and has smaller, 6.5 inch screen and has no joystick.
AD2P streaming is independent on navigation type. It is available as option to Audi Music Interface (AMI).
New navigation, that is already installed in A4, for example, with different controls and new user interface is called (od Audi Germany web) just MMI Navigation, at least so far...

it's already confirmed that MMI 3G does not support bluetooth streaming.

Just picked up my 2012 Q5 S-Line with Nav... Cannot believe there's no A2DP! I just drove a 2013 Ford Escape to go pick up my Audi, which plays songs perfectly from multiple music sources and shows me album art over A2DP! Not to mention full AVRCP. Multimedia is a big deal for me, and the Ford is far better than the Audi. I would've thought with all the options MMI gives us, they it would be more flexible.

With a nice res screen on the Audi, where is the dashboard? At least give us something nice to look at while we're driving, there's nothing. A screen with the Current Speed, Temperature, song playing, time, etc. would be nice.. For god sakes, the Ford shows me my bloody calendar agenda when I get into the car in the morning, it cross syncs with my Google Calendar.

I am extremely disappointed. For those of you that like electronics, go buy a new Ford.

Audi, if you're not going to give us good software, then give us an API at least.

I don't understand you, if it's that important to you, why didn't you look into i BEFORE you bought the Audi? It's like saying "damn this new house I just bought doesn't have central air, my rental apartment had central air, damn"

odd for a first post too, "love ford! audi sucks!".... hmmmmm

Not one word about the comfy seats, excellent driving position, quiet cabin, linear power dilivery, smooth shifting transmission, awesome brakes, superior steering feel, great handling, extra good looks, etc, etc, etc.
Go figure.
But then...this is an MMi thread.
DOH!

I dont understand why bluetooth streaming is important? I put all my music on a SD card and now it is always there on the car.

I am very thankful for getting phone calls over bluetooth, however.

Because streaming vs. owning music has has started to become more popular. I haven't listened to the radio or bought music in years. I pay $3/month for the better quality Pandora and never looked back.
