Has anyone heard of Stasis Engineering - they suggest an increase in HP from 211 to 269.
Awesome rims!

I've just gotten used to recognizing the situations where this happens, and taking extra care to coax into the throttle until the transmission engages, then accelerating harder.
Though to be fair I drove a 2012 rental Impala not long ago, and their transmission does all sorts of weird things too if you suddenly press the accelerator even small amounts around idle. Their accelerator pedal is a lot harder though, which makes it harder to do that.

Curious what I'm reading here...
this lil 2.0l turbo and 8 speed are the smoothest matching systems I've had...
And having had 5 or 6 turbo'ed vehicles over the last 20 years or so, have a bit of insight into 'turbo lag'
ALL except one of the previous turbos had some form of ECU mapping done to them to increase throttle response and remap turbo boost, etc...
granted, most were large diesel engines and tuning increased the push in the 150+hp and 250+lbft range... one or two up to 500hp and 875+ lbft at the wheels...
Those kinds of gains, with just tuning, are not possible on a gas engine...
but +50Hp and +80lbft or so IS and makes a huge difference - well roughly a 25% increase seems huge on this lil engine....
This guy -> https://www.google.com/search?q=don+istook
gave me this tuning -> www.revotechnik.com and it's well worth it !
Also, a lil different perspective on this dastardly 'turbo lag'...
this lil Q only has a small 4 cylinder engine that most would say is underpowered as a naturally aspirated engine...
I like to think of it as making it much stronger when the boost comes in
and add the tuning on top of that and 0-60 in 6 seconds or so is fine for the wife's little grocery getter![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
enjoy....

I have a hesitation/jerky acceleration... at first I thought it was the gearbox but I tried in manual and the jerky acceleration happens in the same gear, the delar told me it was the spark plugs as it was a common issue with other owners, what do you guys think?

Spark plugs??????? Pleeeeessse!
It's the crappy "throttle-by-wire" computer mapping and the fact the 8 speed trans doesn't know what it wants to do in stop and go traffic. The TCU programming for the 8 speed is the worst of any car I have ever driven! The Audi engineers responsible should be ashamed.

It's a whole lot better than my Odyssey, I can guarantee that. I've only test driven a Q5 at this point so I can't talk about all the driving situations I'd normally be in, but even with no traffic my Odyssey (which has no manual mode, unfortunately) is always in the wrong gear, and anytime I need to go a little faster will have to downshift twice to get me moving. The test drive on the Q5 went perfectly and I never felt like overriding the selected gear as I do on the van (which surprised me, because it's rare to find an automatic transmission that selects the gears I'd want when I want them).

I finally started playing with the manual shifter for the first time last night (I've had the Q5 since April) and find it to be much easier to control the gears myself than relying on the automatic. You also know when you're about to shift, so you can anticipate the slight jerk.
