My understanding is as long as you're under warranty, ANY owner can have the TSB done. It's not just a first owner thing.

Perhaps I caused some confusion. Any and all owners are entitled to have the TSB and any other items covered during the warranty period. That is, any defects in material and/or workmanship. The car carries the warranty not the consumer. Mandated recalls must be performend even if the car is out of warranty. The dealer may not perform the TSB if your vin number does not fall in the range Audi determined was effected. My Q was not in the range. I contacted Audi USA they agreed to the service and extended the vin numbers to at least mine or beyond. I would contact the dealer and request the service. The TSB made a marked difference in the performance of the heating.

Agreed. Prior to the fix mine sat on 6 the whole time. I couldn't really tell it was on. Now I use 6 to heat it up then 4 or off.

My Q is going in on Friday for the self exploding moonroof recall and I asked the dealer to check out the seat heater issue at the same time. I gave them the TSB number that was posted on this forum to help them out. We will see.

What is the TSB number I should ask for? And also what does TSB stand for? Thanks!

TSB= Technical Service Bulletins

Check this thread starting page 3, about seven posts down for more info on the TSB number

Just got the Q back from the dealer. All I can say is that our cold buns are very toasty now. What a difference. They applied the software update refered to in the TSB and we are very happy. A big thank you to everyone who posted and made me aware of the available fix!

That's great! Too bad it took this forum to let you know about the TSB instead of Audi or the dealer. And it's also too bad that this is supposedly not available for model years prior to 2012 with the exact same problem. Sorry for the rant, just frustrated with AoA and the dealer about this. I think my 2011 P+ is a great car but I was really looking forward to the heated seats in the first car I ever owned that had them. I did find a fix though; I'm trading it in for a 2013 3.0T They have apparently re-designed the seat heaters, or at least the controller, just 3 settings on the main switch now instead of 6 in the display. From what several posters who have already taken delivery are saying, they now work great! I'll find out next month when it arrives. BTW, the seat heaters are not the only reason I'm trading, but that's a story for another day.
