It took my dealer 3 hours to "inspect" my roof and then tell me all was good - it did not require replacement. Anyone have any idea what they did to "inspect"? When I questioned the length of time it was taking, the service tech told me they were "putting it back together now," so they clearly disassembled the roof.
They needed to remove it to check the date stamp. Yours must have been November 28, 2011 (11/28/2011) or later since they reinstalled it.
Hope this helps

I have to go to Audi next week because of my recall. I have a 2012 Prestige S line. My sunroof is tinted and it seems everyone here is writing that there sun roofs are not. Is it normal to have tinting on the sunroof of this auto? My came from the factory this way

All of the pano roofs are factory tinted. What everyone in really sunny climates are talking about is additional tinting with film.

Dropped off my Q yesterday. Picked up and the dealer claimed panel did not need to be changed.
According to the TSB, if the manufacturing date is before November 28, 2011, the glass panel must be replaced. I took delivery on Nov 1, 2011. How is it possible that the panel did not need to be replaced?
I just left a message to fo my service rep. Waiting to hear back. Doesnt make sence to me.

I had my panel replaced on Monday. They replaced only the front sliding panel after checking the number on the panel to confirm it indeed was destine for the recall. They had initially inputted my vin# when I called and confirmed I had a potential recall.
It took about an hour. I also had my 5K maintenance done nd the total time was 2 hours and 15 minutes, including the car wash.
They did not have to do anyhting on the head liner, it was all external.
