Sounds about right with everything else I've read. 2013 model, so should be able to order in the spring with inventory showing up Aug/Sept.
The Q5 Facelift is due in September 2012, reported by a norwegian magazine (Se table at bottom)

I have seen this other places as well.

Audi have cycle after four years going a facelift two years later released a new model

With the announcement of the Q3 (having inline turbo 5) as it's top engine offering, it makes me curious if that engine may not be in line for the Q5 with the 2013 face lift OR possibly the Q5 redesign (around 2015?).
"Notably, the Q3 will be offered in America with the same basic turbocharged inline-five found under the hood of the Audi TT RS. Rather than the 340 horsepower it produces in the TT RS, expect the engine put out something in the neighborhood of the Q3 Vail concept’s 314 horsepower 295 lb-ft of torque. A version of VW Group’s ubiquitous 2.0-liter turbo four is a possibility as an entry-level motor."

I am hoping that the refresh will happen, as that is what is holding me back from ordering now. Since there hasn't been any formal confirmation of the refresh I decided to email Audi Canada and this was their reply.
Dear Mr. Webb:
Thank you for your recent email and your interest in our brand.
Further to your inquiry, we would like to confirm that the 2013 Q5 will indeed get a facelift (like the A4 and A5), however the 2013 Q5 will not be launched until October. There are no details or pictures available at this time.
If you have any additional questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact Customer Care at 1-800-822-2834.
Thank you again for writing.
