I have not tried it, but I hear Tru Sim is a prepaid SIM that works.... $0.15/MB (US)

You just push it in when you want updates, etc.

Do you need this service to be able to email addresses from Google Maps to the car?

Also, what is the bandwidth limit for the Google Earth and WiFi hot spot data - 2GB like normal smartphone plan?

1. Yes, that's part of the Audi Connect/T Mobile subscription service.

2. The service is 3G.

Thanks.

For 2), I meant to ask how much data can you download per month on connected devices with the service - 2 GBytes?

The $15/month is not bad. I paid $650 for BMW Assist (includes 4 years of service) on my new 335, most of which is usable only in accidents or stolen vehicle recovery. The only regularly useful feature you get is being able to e-mail addresses from Google maps. Having that plus WiFi hot spot for about the same $/month is not a bad deal.

There's no data caps (it's T-Mobile). Whether there's any throttling threshold is another matter, not sure about that.

Thanks So:
- T-Mo service - 6 months included, $30/mo or with additional 36mo for $540 up front ($15/mo). That's 42 months total?

And to confirm other things the salesman was not sure of:
- Sirius XM - 3 months included
- Sirius Traffic - 4 years included (tried to tell me it was only 3mo for everything)

When I signed up for AudiConnect, it was an additional 30 months (for total 36 months with free 6 months included) for $450, and you had to sign up within 7 days of car purchase.

Not sure about the Sirius offers.

ANYTHING with Sirius -
get any offers and coverage in writing or email form as the phone reps have been proven to 'stretch' the truth to get a sale

The key is, if you don't extend your subscription during the 1st seven days you'll pay $30/mo whenever you choose to renew.

As mentioned, extend within those 1st seven days you'll pay $15/mo.

The Sirius info is correct.

Agree, although I have never paid full price for Sirius service. With the 2013 MMI there are something like 7 options for music. Having satellite radio doesn't seem like it's that necessary.
