AWD & Gearing. You can't beat it for 0-60. But you can feel it run out of breath a little, once you're moving - past the spike from peak TQ. No where near as bad as the 2.0T, of course. It would have been just that much better, had Audi been able to tune the Q's 3.0T closer to a nice 300/300.
As far as tuning goes... they _could_ have done it... I suspect they didn't want their compact SUV to outrun the sedans 0-100. No reason this vehicle couldn't have been shipped from the factory with 320-330+hp.

I'm new to Audi, so what is this TD1 stuff? I did a search and found some info on another forum.
Can't you just purchase an additional PCM/ECM (or whatever Audi calls it) and have it programmed/flashed, then put the stock one back in when you go to sell it/have service work performed?
I'm not out to try and mess around Audi. If I want to play, I have to pay (for repairs due to damage caused by mods). BUT... I don't want to be in there for a 5k/15k service and have the tech flash over a modded PCM, or not be able to return the vehicle to stock when it comes time to trade/sell the car.

In brief, it is a software flag in the control module that indicates whether the software had been changed or not. Audi can use this to find out to what degree the car was changed and may use it to deny warranty claims.
