Hello all,
I am new to the forum and just got a 2013 Q5. I was able to pair my phone (Galaxy Note with Android ICS) and can make and receive calls via the Q5 bluetooth (BT) system. However, I have some questions on some of the settings and I am hoping somebody can provide the answer. Here we go:
1). Bluetooth Media Streaming (A2DP)
First, in my old car (Volvo V70), I had used a Belkin BT that plugs to the car aux-in jack. I can pair my Galaxy Note succesfully and in the phone BT settings I see "Phone" and "Media" profile. Hence, I can stream audio.
With the Q5, the car BT did NOT show anything about media streaming or A2DP. Interestingly, my phone BT settings ALSO did not show the "Media" profile. I thought it was my phone so I tried changing ROM, unrooted, etc. and no go. I tried it with another phones (Sony XPERIA P) and same thing. HOWEVER, with iPhone (tried with 4S and 5), media streaming works. Is this an issue with Android OS (ICS)?
2). Contacts display
For some reason, the car displays some number with no name assigned, even though those numbers DO have names assigned in my phone. Is this a bug?
3). Contacts sorting
Right now it shows Last Name, First Name. Anyway to reverse this?
4). AUX-IN
The sticker price shows my car have AUX-IN, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the car. I know it's not the AMI because Q5 accessories doesn't sell AMI AUX female connector, only male type.

Can't tell for sure for 2013 model (I'm on 2011, so there are differences), but:
1. I believe that 2013 model should work with A2DP profile and I've seen quite few messages where people reported that it works, so seems to be your phone issue/setting.
2. In 2011 model the same issue exists, but... MMI screen display phone number of person calling you and then, after a while also name appears, that might be hard to spot as it is dispplayed below phone number, with smaller letters. Maybe the same for you?
4. Aux in most likely is located in arm rest compartment, on the wall facing towards front of the car.

But what phone do you use and does it shows ONLY names in the car "Phonebook" section?
It's not there, maybe they moved it somewhere in 2013 version?

In MY'11 AUX is located in compartment in it is in form of socket (not jack) so you need to provide your own cable (jack to jack). I think this might be eventually related to AMI presence. I do not have one, so I have real AUX socket. If you have AMI you have special AMI connector in glovebox and need to use appropriate cable. Just a thought...
I'm using iPhone 4S and phonebook displays ONLY names. If I select the name additional screen is presented that shows associated numbers (e.g. mobile, work, home etc.). Then I can select one I want to call and confirm by pressing MMI ****.
