I once had to make a quick U-turn with oncoming traffic, and the throttle simple didn't work for up to 2 seconds with traffic coming up fast behind me. It finally kicked in, but this is definitely a software thing that's more dangerous than what it's trying to save you from.

I've also noticed if you hard break up to a stop sign, stop, and then try to immediately go again, the throttle isn't there for a half-second or so. Very irritating.

My 2015 TDI does this on a hard left turn. The pause if short like maybe less than 1/2 second and then it takes off like a bat out of hell. Bugs the heck out of me.

I think what most of you are describing is traction control kicking in. On the Q5 with the high center of gravity, traction control is probably quite conservative and if it detects that the inner tires get unloaded and are at risk of loosing traction around a sharp turn it will ease off the throttle. I had this happen even on an S6 while test driving it. Tried to do a spirited 180 in a cul-de-sac and about half way through it cut throttle. When I do this in my RS5, I get the rear to slide out and the fun begins. The less sporty models in Audi's line up have more conservative thresholds for the nannies. That's just how it is.

OPs issue sounds different, though.

On a carb car we used to call that bogging. I doubt that is the case here though.
