I might add this is a 3.0 diesel. I don't know if it might be the battery.....

you mean the parking brake lock by itself? doesn't sound like a battery issue

It could be a loose plug or wire, but I’d make the dealership fix it. You have the bridge warranty so let them deal with it and get a loaner.

Could you give me more info on the bridge warranty aspect? I heard of it but never looked into it.

Regards

It’s on the claims website. You have an unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty until they come up with a fix.

You have "8" malfunctions from your scan!

There is more going on than just a parking brake issue. Could be all electrical related.

With any electrical short, take it in FAST because shorts cause fires, and that can ruin your day.
Similarly, anything wrong with the brakes (it might suddenly engage, which would really throw you for a spin) anything that is wrong should get into the shop FAST.

That's the kind of thing where if the dealer says "We can't take it until next Tuesday" they really should think about taking it NOW to get it off the road.

Yes, I'm paranoid about these things. Couple of car fires, a wheel that fell off once...little things like that tend to make you pull 'em off the road faster when something important just isn't right.(G)
