Hi all,

A couple of days ago I traded in my 2015 A3 for a 2017 Q5. I noticed that the radio is pretty different and pretty horrible (if this is the real design):

On my A3, if I changed the station, it would show the radio station, name of song, artist, album and even album art of the song or just the art of the radio station if no song was playing. It looked almost like the below except it had all the information I stated above.




Now on my Q5, it doesn't even show me that on any station, except for SIRIUS BUT it's in a popup window instead of the full screen like the above. For the regular radio, all the stations don't even generate as they did on my A3 (some are even blank) and when i'm tuned into one of the radio stations (an HD radio station), it won't even give me information. it looks like the below image.


Is this normal? I'm just asking because I don't want to waste my time going to a dealer just to get no help.

are you serious? so less radio features for a more expensive car?

I believe the big change for the Q5 is the '18 model when it comes to the stereo.

wow... so i'm stuck on 3G and a crappy radio. great what kind of "luxury" car is this for $48,000? grr

update:
so I called Audi of America and they stated there was a ZUG 3 update available because they were aware of that situation. I'm calling Audi dealers around to see if they have anything available to get it done but won't be until next week. will keep ya'll posted.

The luxury is in the driving characteristics more than in the radio. I have to ask: didn't you do a thorough inspection before buying? Didn't you know you were buying the end of a generation, with the all new Q5 coming for MY 2018?

the car i test drove was the same thing but the demo version, so while i did an inspection, i didn't realize my car would have the problem. and no, i had no idea a new gen was coming in 2018 and no one at the dealership really talked about it (obviously)

Let us know how you make out. My wife just got the 17 Q5 and was very disappointed that her honda pilot had a USB in the center console to charge the phone and the Audi doesn't.
