Oil drain plug
When I purchased the dipstick I also purchased a replacement magnetic metric drain plug(17mm IIRC) as I was not " enthused" about the torx bit Oem plug and " stripping" concern. Uses factory crush ring and the magnet collects any minute particles that can be cleaned at each 5k change. BTW and I don't think I'm imagining this, when I do my " intermediate" oil and filter change, I use LubroMoly 5-40 vs. dealer Castrol and this motor is quieter, " feels" better, etc.

I thought the engine block and head were forged aluminum?
No?
I'm trying to confirm this as I type.
If it is aluminum, the magnetic bolt may not be so useful.
Ahhhh thank god for Starbucks Komodo Dragon coffee!!!
Indeed it is
ENGINE TYPE: supercharged and intercooled DOHC 24-valve V-6, aluminum block and heads, direct fuel injection
