I'm not sure audi is too worried about the x3
Even when audi comes out with the 3.0 s/c q5, it'll probably be limited production & marketed at a higher price point. Same thing that Audi does with the Sline q7s.
70% plus of the sales will still probably be 2.0.

Any truth or source behind this speculation? I would love to have a 3.0 S/C. I recently just test drove the X3 xDrive35i (my girlfriend is about to order one)and i was quite impressed with the power and handling ability of the 3.0 turbo.

Not necessary true, Audi replace the 3.2L engine with the 3.0T in the US A6 Quattro 3 years ago and raise the price by only a few hundred dollars. Most people at that time thought Audi is phasing out the 3.2L in their lineup since the 3.0T is much more powerful than the 3.2L and still gets the same gas mileage. For some reason, the Q5 is hanging onto the 3.2L for 2012. My guess is that Audi is saving the 3.0T for the Q5's mid cycle facelift which may happen in 2013.

Look what Audi did with the Q7's.
They market the lower premium plus' at a different price point and limit the options. The top end is a Sline with all the goodies
If I had to guess, when the 3.0T hits the market, it will have a lot of options standard. It might even only come in a Prestige package with the Navigation and most of the options included.
I can't seen a lower level 3.0 S/C Q5. That's what the 2.0T market is for and to cater to the more price concious customers.

I'm sure the 3.2 owners here are satisfied with theri purchase and if I had to do it again I would choose the 3.2. just my opinion and 2cents..
Now if they offered the 3.0SC then that's a whole different ballgame
