That's still some big bucks compared to the US. The US and Canadian dollar are almost even. Surprising that Audi nails canadian customers almost 100% more for the same option.

(The crazy thing is, the Q5s are beyond sold out in Canada, and good luck getting anything better than MSRP and 5+% interest rates on one...)

Assuming an average of 12000 miles per year and combined MPG of the 3.2 at 22 MPG and the 2.0T at 22 MPG. Thats 600 gallons a year for the 2.0T and 545 gallons a year for the 3.2L. That 55 gallons a year difference at $3 a gallon for 8 years, that comes out to $1320. Also, you will get most of that back at trade in time because the trade in value for the 3.2L is higher than the 2.0T.

The $5000 included the price difference in the purchase price to start with!!! The OP was working out the difference in the overall cost between the 3.2 & 2.0T in Canada over 8 years. Which is $4000 in price alone to start with.
