Well, I would just like to report that yesterday I picked up my car from having its 95,000 mile service done. While in there I talked to the service advisor about potential carbon buildup problems, and they said they have a preventative service that they offer.
I am not sure exactly what they did, but boy was there a difference!! It was code 211-3A "BG Complete Fuel Service". It was only $ 246.48 before the service discount which was another 10% off the entire service.
The car idles much smoother, and I have noticed a difference in throttle response, overall quickness.
Not sure if they sold me snake oil, but I did notice a big difference. For the price it seams worth it, especially if it prevents the dreaded carbon buildup and pulling of the motor. (Now I have read on here that that issue mainly effects the exhaust ports, so not sure how this helped clean them out...)
An interesting side note is the service advisor did mention to hit the gas hard when accelerating onto the freeway, as winding up the motor is a good way to clean it out. I have been known to drive aggressively so maybe this has helped me not have to deal with the carbon issue.
Going up to the mountains to do some skiing for a few days, leaving today, it should be a nice drive. I will probably have over 100,000 miles before middle of April.

I hope they didn't just add this:

That additive is the relatively new one (not the older Techron one). I've heard a lot of reports from people saying the car drives like new after using some of that stuff. It's also the fuel cleaner that the dealerships use now when customers report rough idling or bad gas mileage. They'll pour some of that stuff in the car first before doing any manual cleaning and it usually fixes the problem. You can buy a can of the G17 additive for under $10.

Pretty normal for everyone in my family to go about 30,000 miles a year (Mom, Dad, and Sister). We can never understand how most people put so few miles on their cars.
I travel 55 miles each way to work, plus additional miles daily for sales calls.
Not to mention I like to ski in the mountains in the winter, and drive to Vegas quite frequently too...

I got mine here. It pays to get several cans, as shipping is pricey for one only.

I'm waiting for the SQ5 gas version later this fall, which will be my first Audi. I've read about this carbon build-up problem here before, and I'm beginning to think many Audi owners get rid of their vehicles before they start having problems like this one. I probably keep my vehicles longer than most here, but a modern $50,00 vehicle should make it to 200,000 miles without much fuss. How many miles on your Audi?
