Default Any experience with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires? Local slightly used set $300 in 20"

Claims "10/32nds tread depth, (less than 4,000 miles on tires)"

Looking at TireRack the reviews are pretty mediocre (avg=5.5), while meanwhile the ones I was planning on (Kumho 4X) are rated 7.2 - after rebate about $500 for these.

Looking for a sporty all-season, obviously

Mark,

I'm looking to get these:

Yokohama PARADA Spec-X

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Premium%20Plus

The ratings are better than the Kumho's and are still a reasonable price.

I have experienced both. Our 2000 A4 came with the RS-A's new. Mediocre at best and did not last that long.
Recently bought the Kumho 4X for our Cab in 17's and are very quiet and handle well. Just got the rebate card too.

Default Thanks, but I don't want directional tread as I want to fully rotate from side to sid

On my 911, each tire has a single home and can't be rotated anywhere (rears wider [11"] than fronts [8"]). On my prior summer tires on sporty cars (ie S4), I had directional that would rotate just front to rear. For my Q5, I want to be able to fully rotate them.

Go with the Parada Spec-X...you'll love them. Dedicated truck A/S tire. I have them and they have been wearing well. Took 2 road trips already this year with them. Quiet, handles well in dry, wet and light snow. Aggressive tread pattern.

Check out Discount Tires for their Labor Day sale...best deal you can get. $100 visa prepaid card for a set of 4. Ends 9/2

Mark, if the tires are cheap, they might be a fair value for you. It's a common OE fitment on VAG products. I had them on a VW. Nothing to write home about, but inherently a fair tire.

Thanks - indeed that's the question for me - how cheap does it make sense to try them, knowing that I have a fixed cost of mount/balance each time I change. I also wonder if the reason they're available is because they suck I'm gonna pass. Thanks for the input all.

Note that Yokohama is $75 rebate, not $100. Here it is in 255/45R20:

Still a better deal than TireRack as it saves you about the cost of shipping. $648+Ship at TR, $716-$75=$641 at DTD
