Default Anyone actually dig into the 3.0 TFSI engine?

Maybe there are other sections on the forum that I haven't seen yet but I really haven't seen anyone do any upgrade to the 3.0 V6. I have a SQ5 now, and it would seem like a heck of a place to start with to get a 12 or 11 second sporty little daily driver.

Most I have seen is a cold air intake and maybe a tune.

I understand the SQ5 version is bit new and being a cross over probably won't have a huge following for headers/mufflers....but the engines are pretty much the same as the S4, correct?

What can the engine safely make? What can the trans hold?

Take a look at the S4 forum. Lots of info there.

Plenty of 12 second 3.0 TFSI Q5's from just intake, pulley and stage 2+ tune out there. The thinking is the SQ5 TFSI is somewhere between a stage 1 and 2 to start with, so with a tune and maybe a charger pulley you will be into 12 second territory.
Don't think I've seen anyone want/need to go beyond that in an SUV yet!?

I have seen a number of 500, 600, and even a few 1000 hp Trailblazer SS trucks over the years, just seems as well as this SQ is built...it wouldn't be hard to have a very quick one.

With my recent purchase of this SQ5 and how much fun it has been so far...really has me interested into possibly building parts for it.

For me right now, it just seems hard to really find anything out there other than pulling parts from other Audi models to put on it (ala S line trim on a base) or SQ5 wheels on a Q5 that kind of thing. There are what two sets of coil overs out there, and some bolt on items and that is about it.

I'm interested to see if APR devs a tune specifically for the SQ5 and if they learn it is truly different than a Q5 3.0T or not. Can the SQ5 make any more gains or are they the same? We'll have to wait a bit I suppose.

Again, I guess I need to dig into the actual program files and learn about this myself a bit.

I have heard through some guys at Audi factory that it will make about 13 psi of boost the way the pulley setup is stock, but they bleed it off in the tune (I'm guessing with a bypass valve) and that changing pulley setups isn't needed, just keep the blower bypass shut and you can do everything with that.

Shooting in the dark on this one as I have a bit of learning to go over what I know on the GM stuff.

That being said, I'm not going to try and make 1000 hp from this..I doubt the block could take it, even if it could make that but I would like to see what they can actually do with more than a tune and an air filter.

Somebody posted this on the forum a while back, which explains the 3.0T supercharged engine:

It shows the bypass valve setup on the blower.
