Aquapel vs Rain-X
Is it worth the additional cost of the Aquapel vs Rain-X aside from the time table of reapplication of 2-4 months vs 2-3 weeks.
Anyone have (used) the Aquapel on their Q5?
I have Rain-X on my Q but if I can get away with less applications ....
comments? input?
(i've already searched the forum for input & most of it relates to other vehicle models and i'm specific for the Q5 folks)

ive tried both, used rainx for years then found aquapel. Used that for a couple months but decided it wasnt worth the extra cost. i use this and it works really really good! lasts a good 4-6 months.

Does anyone know if there is any easy solution for fine stone chips in the glass? In bright sunlight my windshield looks sandblasted after 2 years and 135,000Km on the highway.
I'm starting to consider replacing the windshield soon.

Been using Rejex for years on my cars - basically put it on the entire car including the windows..also lasts about 6 months and basically does the same thing as Rain X and other similiar products.
Was first introduced to it via a 911 forum where these guys have been using it for years to protect their cars when they track them.

I just applied the Trico View (formerly called Aquapel). It applies cleanly - doesn't make you buff it unlike what I've experienced with Rain-X in the past and is suppose to last up to 6 months. You can find it for ~$7 to $10 @ Amazon.
It seems to work decently when at highway speeds. At lower speeds, I'm not impressed.

Yeah, I stopped with the RainX on the windshield years ago. I had so many issues on various cars with the wipers skipping, jumping, juddering etc. Way too annoying for any benefit gained.
I guess I've been using Aquapel for 5+ years. I really like the product and have had excellent durability with it when properly applied.
I find Aquapel on eBay for around $4 a pop. Well worth the price considering it lasts 6 months or longer on our cars.
