I was pretty close with my guess - looking forward to seeing details of the options as well:

$47,395 with destination. Certainly not cheap, and far more expensive than the GLK250. At least diesel fuel is more affordable relative to the cost of gasoline here in the midwest. And we know the TDI is likely to hold its value better than the equivalent gasoline-powered models.

Good find, Mark, thanks for sharing. Compared to the 2013 3.0T, that's a $2600 premium. Prices are likely at least a little higher for 2014, so say $2500 premium?
Now we just need the updated order guide for option pricing (and Prestige pricing if anyone's going for that) and we'll be getting somewhere! (I have to hold off a little longer for lack-of-job reasons, but hopefully I can rectify that shortly!)

Base GLK, perhaps, but once you start optioning that GLK the price goes up fast and the fuel economy is pretty bad in comparison (despite being a smaller engine). Doesn't seem like a particularly good value at least from the configurations I was looking at.

so a 3,600 dollar mark up for the TDI...
Who wants to do the excel sheet for the amount of miles you need to drive to pay off the difference VS the 2.0T and the 3.0T

Roughly what you're asking for:
![](http://ctny.audiworld.com/mark/q5/gas_vs_diesel/index_files/gas_price_comparison_25967_image008.png)
Consider solid orange 27-vs-21 to be the comparison between Combined MPG (as rated) for TDI vs 3.0T. about $4000 savings in 100k miles at these fuel prices.
Of course that doesn't cover what the resale value will be for each of these at that same time. Likely more in favor of the TDI.
This is using my fuel pricing, as you can see here:

Not sure where you heard the fuel economy is bad ... the early reports I've read have been phenomenal with real world numbers well into the 30's.

There's only a $2100 price diffenrce in the gas and tdi.
Audi sent down a memo today.
44,400 for a premium plus
46,500 for the TDI.
51,900 for a prestige
54,000 for the TDI
$3600 is misinformation.
Some sources are already adding in the $895 destination & metallic paint to the tdi, which is making it seem more expensive.
