My dealer sent me the memo that was released yesterday...here is the last sentence in the Q5 section (I know this has been a hot topic for some):

"Premium Plus models will have Audi side assist available as a standalone option."

Look a few posts up...straight from the memo Audi released on Monday. Full pricing to be released on the 13th except for SQ5 models, which is "later".

Can you post that memo? And I guess we shall find out tomorrow on the order guide.

Right but people are very skeptical that is merely old information before the newer memo came out that it's not available.

Originally it was in the announcements as a new change for 2014 (specifically listed as a row in the PIB as a Lineup Change "Audi side assist as standalone option on Premium plus").

But then it was removed from the ordering system and the Order Guide was updated to remove 7Y1 (Side Assist) as a standalone option.

It would be strange for then Audi to re-reverse their decision yet again. This piece of news is the only thing that's come out since it was removed that says it's "now" present. So either:
- This is old information and is superseded by it's withdrawal
- This is brand new information and the first it's been announced anywhere

The suspicion is the former is true. Thus asking if there's any other evidence to support the later is being asked. Until we see it back in the Order Guide or confirmed by Audi Specialists that it can be ordered again, I wouldn't (and don't) believe this info.

I have queried my Audi Specialist and he's supposed to get back to me on this alleged memo today.
Will be very surprised and delighted. Hoping to also get option pricing very soon.

Don't think you'll be either ;-) But I suppose if you're planning to be delighted, then you may indeed be surprised

Agree! I've long ago gotten used to the sad fact that SA is not going to be in my build. And I'll be just as surprised if my Audi Specialist actually looks today to see if that memo exists.

On another note, I bumped into an acquaintance yesterday that was driving a new Touareg TDI Sport. He traded his A3 TDI in for it. Had a devil of a time getting the dealer in Dallas to take his A3 as it had lots of miles....but they had the Sport model he wanted....and he claimed those were hard to find. Most of the Touaregs he located were loaded, mostly Executive models. Regardless, he LOVES the drivetrain. But somewhat dismayed that Audi is offering the Q in a TDI, because he would have waited for it.

It's okay, he'll laugh to keep from crying. Hopefully it does come back, but I join you in your skepticism. It's still odd how the Q5 was the only one, so I could see them changing their mind if supply gets better or something, but more likely with how popular the Q5 has been it'll be off the guide until next year possibly.
