They do not cover brake pads or any other wear items.

I failed to see how a brake flush would cost 190. A Motive one-man bleeder for about 50 bucks and some fluid and an hour's worth of labor? Seems like something you can get done for 60-80 bucks at an indy.

Of course, for those of us who opt going to an Audi dealer, one should know you are going to pay top dollar for labour, parts and everything else. Then why do we go there? I guess we all have our reasons;for some money may not be an issue, Audi loyality may be another, the belief that "Audi knows Best" (which I'm sure there are many stories out there that would contradict this statement), we like to pamper our cars with nothing but the best, or we are just too damn lazy to research other competent places to have the work done.

I paid $153.45 CDN (taxes incl.) to have the brake fluid flushed just for comparison. You're right though vwtoys, it could easily be done for half the cost. My reason: too damn lazy to research other competent places to have the work done . My Audi dealer is conveniently too close.

I think choosing the right dealer is a very important part of your deal. It really matters!

The price is set by Audi, all dealers will charge the same.

I got audicare and i'm realizing its total BS. I'm getting ready to take her in for her 15k/1 year oil change and the dealer asks me if i'd like to get my tires rotated balanced and wheel alignment for an extra $230. Now excuse me but shouldn't that be covered? shouldn't tires be rotated every 7500 miles?

I mailed to my dealer in order to get my Q5 serviced (1 year/ 9500 miles or 15.000km)
he answered it is absolutely not necessary to bring the car back until the limit of 19.000 miles/ 30.000km is reached
I indend to change the oil that looks very black and to switch the tires (front/back)
anyway I think it is better for every engine to run on fresh oil (mine runs frequently on short trips...)
I will rotate the tires (not in an Audi shop...) to get them even worn at the time I will change them (I change always my 4 tires simultaneously as I don't want to have different shapes)

No doubt laziness has something to do with it. The money might not matter to you, but I'm not going to pay the dealer 80-100/hr labor rate to work on the Q. I don't nearly make that much. :P

Since I'm more of a DIY guy, I generally do all the maintenance and repair work myself (other than body work, still trying to learn) so owning the TT for 8+ years and now the Q5 is not going to kill me on maintenance cost. The TT has not seen an Audi Dealer since the warranty expired and is doing great.
