Hi,
I see that in my US version Audi Connect setting, there is a toggle for Data Roaming. Does that means I can use the provided T-Mobile SIM card for data in Canada?
If so, anybody actually done that? How much do they charge? Will I be billed for it or is it prepaid? If it's not for Canada, that what is data roaming for?
Thanks!

It should be generically for whether data usage is allowed anytime the car's not on T-Mobile's network (or I guess whenever the SIM says that it's roaming). I know with the phone data plans from T-Mo you get 100MB of roaming data and then get cut off; not sure what (if anything) you get with the official plan. Prepaid I'm sure varies as well. Was there a manual/booklet/anything for the Audi Connect stuff? Or paperwork for the 6 month trial (like contract info, though of course you don't actually have a "contract" as such)?

Thanks for your reply.
I should have RTFM.
I poked around in T-mobile's Audi Connect page, that was seriously lacking in detail. Hence the post.
Then I got back to the printed literature. It's all there: only works in the 50 states and Puerto Rico. No roaming in Canada or Mexico. Data limit 2GB before throttling.
Since many seem to have success using a non-TMo SIM, I wonder if a Canadian data SIM would work...

Right, you just need a GSM SIM and know a valid APN to connect to (should be easy enough to find, I would think -- and depending on the provider they may give that info to you up front, possibly).
I wonder if there's any domestic data roaming supported; international I'm not surprised about, but what about when you're not in T-Mobile's network? Are you okay (data roaming included, at least some basic level like the 100MB the phone plans seem to get) or are you cut off until you get back into T-Mo coverage area?
