Audi Drive Select..Thoughts and Opinions..

I have ADS and really appreciate the difference in suspension, shifting, and steering the ADS settings offer. The difference between Comfort and Dynamic is quite noticeable. My one complaint was that every time you start the car, it defaults to the Automatic setting and you have to change it manually, instead of it defaulting to your last setting. Someone here posted a VAG-COM adjustment which lets you switch the default setting (I changed mine to Individual (which is set like Dynamic)), and this made a huge difference in my enjoyment of it. I'm 9,000 miles into my Q5, and I'd say it's already paid for itself.
Having said all that, it's very subjective as to whether it's worth the ~$2,500. If your friend has the extra money burning a hole in his pocket and loves power toys, I'd say it'll be worth the enjoyment for him as well. Otherwise, I'd probably skip the option.

i think definitely worth it. i didnt do it and went from t-reg with suspension adj and push button start (keyless entry). Its been 8 months and i still miss the keyless entry, but have at least progressed beyond pulling on a locked door handle.
