Hi guys. Is there a way to set this up so that the mirrors automatically fold when the car is shut off and automatically unfold when the car is started?

Just when you lock the car they fold, and when you start the car again they unfold. Not sure about folding when you shut the car off.

It's in one of the MMI menus.

Hmmm, I always thought it was like Birdman said and that's the way it is .... no changes... let us know if you find something else..

It is in the MMI menu. I have it set this way. Just 'cause it's awesome :-)
I'll take a look later and put the exact menu sequence here.

My mistake, it is only on locking. You can set whether mirrors fold when vehicle is locked.
Car menu > Central Locking > mirrors...

I remember having to explicitly turn this 'On', so it may be Off by default.

Only when locking and unlocking... I don't think the car has the option to only fold when car is shut off

I did not see that central locking on MMI for my 2012 build. I have a button on the side of the arm rest to do it manually.

Mine is also 2012 P+, but I don't have Nav so it may be different.

There is a 'Car' button on the right side beside the scroll wheel mounted in the lower center of the dash. Clicking the Car button brings up the various categories of customization settings, one of which is Central Locking. There must be an equivalent accessible through the fancier Nav system MMI but I couldn't tell you how to find it.
