Service advisor did not know any specifics about the work required. They had it done by lunch and then mailed me the service receipt. Service recept is cryptic but mentions SVM Code. They also performed a TCM (transmission control module) software update, which seems to let the RPM go a little higher before shifting.

Got my AoA letter today, basically gives no specifics on module availability but says I will be contacted in "the coming weeks" when my module is in. A small step forward at least.

Default Similar Indications Here

Spoke with Service Mgr. Says A8s and A7s are getting their back-ordered chips installed now. A total of 40 cars or so are involved at our dealership.

We MY11 Q5ers should be getting our "heads up letter" from AoA this week, and that we should expect to be next notified in a few weeks, maybe in late November or early December to make an appointment.

They will need the better part of a day to complete the install, and calibrate the camera image and guidance indicators.

So this should work out well for coordination of our 5k service. A loaner will be provided, along with a full tank of gas for our vehicle and detailing (not just our dealer's customary exterior wash).

Getting closer.

I received my letter from AoA today for my '12 Q5.

The letter states "in the coming weeks" I will receive another letter with more concrete information with regards to installation dates.

So, sounds like early Q1 for the camera installation.
