Here's a link to the communication from AoA to the dealers re: backup camera activation

Default That's the One

Our service mgr was reading that memo from his computer when I visited with him earlier this week. Heads-up letter came in the mail that evening.

Default Parts Arrived

Checked in with service manager this morning to try to coordinate 5K service with camera chip install for our MY11. Hadn't heard anything since I last posted that I had received the "heads up" letter, about 30 days ago.

He indicated that they had just gotten the notice from AoA that the "next wave" (and according to him the "last wave") of modules is in, so I have an appt for next Wednesday. Supposed to take a couple of hours for the module install.

They will also do the 37G1 (I think that's the number) campaign to flash the software for the tranny. (See thread elsewhere in this forum).

So will report back later next week on how it went.

I have received the "pre-letter" letter, but not the follow-up Official letter yet. However, I just dropped my car off for its 5k service, and asked them about the back-up chip.

They said they had some in stock, and would go ahead and put it in for me. So, happening much sooner than scheduled due to my car being in the shop for its 5k service.

Got the letter today that the camera module is in. Made an appointment for Wednesday next week to have the work done. Finally!

Just got the car back from the 5k, and they did install the back-up camera while it was in.

Seems to work fine, though I haven't had a chance to test it thoroughly. The picture on the camera though seems more pixilated (not as good quality) as I recall from the demo drive this past summer. Interested to hear what others experience when you get yours in.

Thanks for the pixelation observation geronimosan, I'll mention that to the SM on arrival Wednesday.
