I've recently noticed thousands of tiny wavy imperfections in my windshield glass. It's especially noticeable when stopped and viewing a static object directly in front of the vehicle and slightly and slowly moving my head, such as looking at a a stoplight or another car. It's especially annoying at night when oncoming lights cause a bit of a starburst effect through the glass.

I assume it'll be a relatively straightforward warranty item at the dealer although I'm not wild about the prospect of breaking the factory seal around the windshield glass to replace it, but now that I've noticed the imperfections it's hard to not notice them.

Anyone else have problems with their windshield glass optics?

Can't say I've noticed this on the Q5.

I have seen it though on replacement windshields, and I'd consider it unacceptable on a new car.

I have the same issue on my 2013 A6. It is very annoying. Have you brought it in yet? I plan on getting around to it. Warranty covered it for you?

I did actually... the 2nd glass had the same problem (the dealer noticed it and ordered a replacement again before I saw it). 3rd windshield was fine.

I now have a 2014 SQ5 and no issues with the glass.
