Also alot cheaper than the EBC stuff which I hear chews up rotors (wear out quickly or warps them).
2nd that - I have them on the RS and have them ordered for the Q5.

Reggie,

I've been looking at the Centric pads for my 2011 Q5 mainly due to the ridiculous dust from the OEM pads. I would usually replace pads myself but don't have VCDS to release the rear calipers. Do you know of a reputable place in the Fort with VCDS and the approximate labor cost to have someone do this if I supply the pads?

Thanks,
Z

I'm so irritated by brake dust, that I'm thinking of changing brake pads too.
Where do you buy them and how much would they cost?
Will it also help for another annoyance - brake squeak when it comes to stop?

HZ60: I swapped out my pads before the stockers got too worn down so VAG-COM wasn't necessary.

Default Excessive Brake Dust

Has anyone tried using brake/wheel dust covers?

For low dust I would suggest going with a ceramic pad. Hawk currently sells a ceramic pad for the Q5 available below.

Click HERE to order or for more information.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Didn't these die out with pinstriping?

Thanks for the information.I also called Centric technical Dept. and talked to them . I have ordered the Centric pads for just the front and going to let Audi dealer install and see how they work before i do the back. Will let you know. The Tech at Centrica also said they Are in R&D and soon will be coming out with a better pad for (2011 & 2012 Q5 & Q7)couldn't tell me when they would go into production.

I installed the Hawk Ceramic and they are LOW dust but with frequent trips towing a trailer and a fair amount of mountain driving the Ceramics were a let-down. Be prepared for a minimum 10% in diminished braking. This analysis comes only from my braking foot. I've replaced the front Ceramics with HPS and will do the rears once Hawk can get their crap together and put the correct pads in the correct box. Twice I ordered from Tire Rack and both times they sent the wrong pads packed in the right box. Called Hawk and they were not willing to help and merely referred me back to Tire Rack.
Jason, if you have any Hawk HPS rears I'll buy them right away...but you might want to check your stock to make sure the correct pads are in the box.
