Hi,
I just got an inspection sticker and the Audi mechanic said my brake pads were over 70%. However, beginning yesterday, I began to hear a light squeak when hitting my brakes, it sounds like a bird. It only does it briefly. Is this an indicator of some sort? How do I know when to get brakes checked out? Could this be a bearing? Also, how much does Audi usually run you to replace brake pads? Any insight would be awesome, thanks all!

2009 Q5, so probably not your first brake pads rodeo. Sometimes when the piston in the caliper moves way outward, it is more prone to not retracting completely and you can get a little rubbing noise. In turn that can be more likely if both pads AND rotors are well worn. Be sure to check rotor wear specs too, especially if never changed on a 2009 at like >50K miles as just a guess.
