What was your oil consumption like?

What engine do you have in your Q5, how did you run it in and what is your oil consumption like?
99 GTI vr6 2.8 litre. Oil consumption - minimal to zero. (never have to add oil between changes)

2010 Q5 3.2 litre v6. Zero oil consumption - well at least as far as the MMI is telling me. Tough to go off just the MMI readings though.

I dunno, after reading this thread, I took my 2.0T Q5 with 200 kms and pushed it a tiny bit over 3000 rpms for fun..(because I've been driving under 2000rpms most of the time like a grandma) The transmission shifted like crazy, and didn't really know what I wanted...

After the car smelled a bit and the tranny shifted really rough for the next 10 kms..

I think im going to stick to babying it.

Ok thanks for that. Unfortunately it's a bit inconclusive though as neither of those engines are renowned as being mobile oil pumps unlike the 2.0TFSI. if it had've been one of these engines that you had with low oil consumption then things would be getting interesting.

I think you'll find that even the manual indicates that you shouldn't baby it through run-in. No constant running and using a few revs.
