Default Can’t start 2010 q5, no power to ignition.

yesterday my battery died and I tried jumping it a bunch but couldn’t get it started. Then I replaced the battery and now when I push the key in it doesn’t do anything.. the ignition doesn’t go to on position, just saus take key out. Can’t even operate windows. Anybody ever have this problem, or know of a solution???

I have this same problem. I was driving down the road and car quit running, completely dead. Nothing would light up, no ignition, couldn't move shift lever out of P.

I replaced the battery and now I can lock/unlock doors, dashboard lights up with date/time, and radio/MMI comes on. Interior lights work and hazards work. Headlights do not come on, no power to ignition so I can only scan the CAN module for DTCs.

I feel like there should be a relay or fuse blown, but don't know where to look for them.

Did you use VCDS and follow the procedure for coding your new battery after you installed it?

I didn't adapt the battery, but it should still power the ignition without doing that shouldn't it? The power lift gate goes up and down, hazard lights work (except right rear).

No, not necessarily. I would code the new battery like you are supposed to. It doesn’t take more than a couple of minutes now that your new battery is already in.
