Default Can I play videos through the navigation unit on my SQ5??

Hey Guys,

I have a 160gb ipod that always stays in my SQ5. Can I play music video's through the navigation screen?

Is it possible? If so, what video format plays through the navigation unit?

Any help, tips, or advice, would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Freemake Video Converter supports multiple video codecs

I don't believe the MMI supports any of the iPod Classics for playing videos (only the iPod Touch 2G-4G, iPod Nano 6G, iPad 1G-3G and iPhone 1-4s using the MPEG4 format via the red grommet AMI cable. Later iDevices using the Lightning connector i.e. iPhone 5, 5S and 5c, will not pass video until the new Lightning/AMI AMI cable is available which should be soon). Additional formats can be used if playing videos from an SD card or loaded into the Jukebox.

I can real-world confirm that it does not.

But since we know that the MMI will play those same videos on a different supported Apple device, BayAreaQ7, I would tell you to get one of those devices, or just put them on an expansion drive or SD card and watch them that way. I am using formats AVI and MP4 so I know they are supported.
