Just got a new '10 Q5. I seem to be missing the option on my "Media" screen to import music from an SD memory card. I can play the music just fine from the card, but I have no option to import it. I don't have NAV, but it's my understanding that all Q5's have the same hard drive and should be able to import and store music.

I've STFA and Googled and everything else and I can't find an answer. Are there any other non-Nav owners out there that have had this problem (or that have been able to successfully import music?)

I am using an older 2GB SD (not SDHC) card as instructed and the music is all in .mp3 format on the card.

Any help people can give is welcome. Thanks!

I think you only get the hard drive if you get the NAV.

That's correct. Downink, you should just either buy a couple 32 gig SD cards, or pop for an ipod that lives in the car (my preference).

Correct. If you don't have the nav system, you don't have the hard drive.

Thanks everybody - guess I must have misread something on the boards along the way. Ipod it is!

I tried my iPod connected to the AUX, and I found the
result is not that good : poor dynamics, you have to turn the volume to fairly high levels
CD's do it much better, so as the FM-tuner
as SD-cards must have mp3-files on to get read, they suffer the same problem as the iPod via AUX.

I have not had any problem with the audio level from the iPod connected through the AMI. I have not tried an SD card because the iPod supersedes them. The use of CDs doesn't permit on demand access to an entire music library, but the great thing about the Q5 is that you may choose your method. You can even burn an .mp3 CD and play directly from it.
