check your tire pressure!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife complained last night that the ride on the new 1000 mi 2011 q5 seems awfully hard. This morning I checked the air pressure. all four tires were approx 41 psi. Why do they ship it from the factory like that and why doesn't the dealer readjust it when the prepare it for dely?

The reason is that when vehicles are shipped via slow-boat, they keep the pressure up to prevent the tires from developing flat spots in transit.
The dealer is surely lacking as there are checklists created for delivery prep which is quite extensive. Guess it was a bad day for someone.

All new car dealers, not just Audi, are supposed to adjust tire pressure to manufacturer spec but many do not. One would think that since many pay "dealer prep fees"...do a site search for a thread on this THAT topic...this wouldn't happen, but go figure.

It's why I literally took my tire gauge--accurate to 1/10 lb. accuracy when I picked up my car. Before I drove it from the dealership garage I checked the tire pressure on all four. They were each at 38 lb or so. I dropped them to just under 35 each.
Unfortunately--much more than tires need to be checked. Body finish blemishes, etc., are biggies too and some of them don't show until in better light.
