Quick question folks. I thought the tips on my S-Line where SS but over the winter, they got pretty crappy looking with rust spots and all. If they were in fact really SS would this have happened? If not, I'll probably order me some.

Poncherelly , as far as I'm aware the Q5 3.2 S line does not come with polished stainless steel exhaust tips.

I suggest you order Audi genuine sport 8k0071761c for Q5 6 cyl
There is only 1 part number for the 3.2

Put a little wax on them before you install them and they will be easier to clean & repeat as you clean the Q

Can the tips be easly removed to wash them in a bucket and than put back on? Mine came installed on my new car so I am unsure if they are SS or chrome, how would I know what they are made out off?

The Audi genuine tips that I installed on my 2010 3.2 do not come off. I was told that by the dealership parts manager before I bought them. Easy to clean when I wash the Q.

Had to chuckle a little bit when so many posters wrote, "My dealer will install for free!" I ain't Mr. Home Improvement or nuthin', but it took me all of two minutes per side. And that included donning rubber gloves so I didn't get exhaust dust all over my hands! I put some metal polish on them first and they should wash up nicely. Finally, yes indeed it's a one-time install and no going back. But they look SOOO much better why would I? Cheers.
