Default Clarification of warranty purchase

Hi Audi World!

I recently purchased a used 2010 Q5 Premium Plus from a dealer in town. I purchased the CPO limited warranty for $1,350 only to find out it was not sufficent time to use the warranty based on how I drive. I was told I can upgrade to the extended warranty for another $2,200 which is the coverage I needed. The dealer said if I did not purchase the limited warranty, the extended warranty would have cost $5,600. So I ended up spending $3,550 total.

My question is:
Did I over pay for extended warranty($3,550)?
Does the CPO limited warranty come with the vehicle or is it true that everyone has to buy it?

Please share with me your thoughts.

Thanks!

Not every used car Audi sells is CPO, it has to meet mileage requirements etc. If the car is CPO when you buy it from the dealership then chances are it is a little more cost to the consumer because they are not certifying it and taking the risk of adding 50k more miles for free.

In your opinion did I get a good deal on the limited and extended warranty totaling $3,550?

Original warranty is up to 50,000 miles and CPO is up to 100k or 6 years from date car was put into service. Did you just buy a CPO car and pay $3550 extra for that or did you buy something above and beyond the 100k? I cant figure this out reading your original post.

From everything I was told (called Audi USA), the car was not a CPO vehicle so I had to purchase the CPO limited warranty separately. The vehicle is a 2010 3.2 Q5 Premium Plus starting at 35,991. I don't know if you can tell by the vehicle price whether they rolled CPO limited warranty in there already if the price seems high.

I bought the CPO limited warranty (6 years/100k, $80 deductable) for $1,350. With the current car mileage and how much I drive that didn't allow enough time to use the warranty.

Then I paid another $2,250 for the extended warranty platinum (8 years/100K, $0 deductable, Fidelity insured) which gives me enough time.

I also paid another $1050 for the maintenance up to 75K and they gave me 3 years of paintless dent repair at no cost.

You paid $2250 for 2 years of coverage - years 6 through 8 - assuming you don't go over 100k. Probably not a bad deal considering that is when things really start to break but who knows if you'll keep it that long, not wreck it, etc.. If you remember, why don't you reply to this thread in 2018 to let us know how it worked out

I wouldnt worry about the price to much as that is over with now, it's basically insurance. If you need it then you'll be glad you spent the money for it, if you never use it then you will kick yourself for buying it. One never knows what can go wrong and they are super pricey to repair. Audicare was a good buy because those services are ridiculous in price too..
