Default Climate Control Question

Is there a way to have the fan level blow at different levels between the driver side and passenger side?

The system is currently set up to mimic the fan level when one side (driver or passenger) is changed. For example, if I switch the fan level to 4 on the driver side, the passenger side is automatically moved to 4 as well.

I might have switched this setting on accident but cant seem to find the menu to change it back. The climate (hot or cold) switches independently but the fan level seems to be in sync with the other side.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe the A5 functions the same as the Q5 (the forum you're in), and the answer is no, you cannot have a separate fan setting for the passenger and driver side, you can, however, have different temperatures.

1 fan, 1 speed...but you can attenuate the amount of air flow by opening/closing the dash vents.

I was kinda bummed about this as well when I first got the Q. I had originally got my hopes up with the two fan control buttons but its just access for both driver and passenger for the same fan.

Oh yeah. I tried it out. Move one fan setting they both move. Surprised the crap out of me. I would of thought that an Audi would be a little more controlable. My Acura allows independent fan, vent and temp settings for both driver and passenger.

I use Auto setting but different temps for each side. I let the car decide what to do as it will not ramp up the fan until the car heater is warm and then ramp it down automatically. Never had a problem with the selection. Plus it will run the AC to get rid of moisture in the car so the windows do not frost up.

Wow - guess using it on auto all the time I never realized that - I just ASSumed it was two fan speeds

Oh well, still like the car and it's finally gotten cool enough here in Texas to use the seat heaters and
am happy to report that ours get quite warm
and get turned off after less than 10 minutes they are so warm!

on edit - now - now we got COLD - like about 34 degrees

and this infers that the fan speed is independent for each side :

Well when it's only 60 degrees outside you really don't need them for long. ;-)
