Custom V1 mount

Thought I'd share my V1 mounting solution. In my TT, I used the clip mounted to the roof liner. This arrangement doesn't work in the Q5. I really hate suction cups as they never stay put for long, so that was out. I ended up taking a piece of aluminum, cutting it to size and bending it just right. I used 3M VHB tape to mount it to the windshield. Ran the wire under to the fuse box...nice and clean

Very nice and a pretty slick idea! I wish our windshields had tint strips built in so that it could hide the detector better from the outside. I need to hardwire my V1 to my Q5 soon. Btw, keep up with the times! you need an upgrade! I find my suction cups work well they're just a pain to move to and fro. Love my V1
Which fuse did you tap to wire it and how hard was running the wire?
