Default Diplomatic discount on 2012 Q5

Hi guys, I am purchasing a 2012 Q5 (3.2 presium plus), and I am qualified for a diplomatic discount which is 10% off MSRP $48,500. So price comes to about $43,500, not including taxes, fees and processing fees. Since I don't think there are major changes to the 2013 version, plus the wait time is kind of long for 3.0T version, I just want to go ahead and pick from 2012 stock.

Just want to check whether this is a reasonable discount, or I shall try to get more from the dealer?

Also, I was comparing Q5 with Mercedes ML350, with my discount, ML 350 comes to only $49,000, which is only about 6000 more than Q5, which will be a better choice?

Thans.

If you qualified for a diplomatic discount you do not pay local taxes
Diplomatic discounts for Audi, 12% to factory price and not the cost of duties and taxes.
Diplomatic discount for Mercedes and BMW is 15%, Volvo has the greatest diplomatic discount is 20%
Good luck

Thanks a lot! I do not holds A visa, so I need to pay for sales taxes and fees. However, I heard from dealer that diplomatic discount is only 10% for Audi, so if your information is accurate, I would have to ask for the extra 2% from dealer, based on the MSRP!

That is very helpful information, thanks a lot indeed!

How do you compare ML 350 and Q5 then, given the fact that price difference is fairly minor.
