Does the Q5 2.0t need to cool down before turning car off

No. I've driven my GTI (with the same 2.0T engine) for 46K miles with zero issues. I've never cooled it down before turning it off. These modern day turbos are pretty bullet proof.

There was another thread about this a little while back. Most folks seemed to agree that as long you didn't finish thrashing the car around, and then just pulled in the driveway and turn it off, all will be fine.

I believe most new-ish VW/Audis have a feature that run a pump to circulate coolant for a bit even after the car is turned off. I'm not sure if this is sufficient or not but it certianly can't hurt. It shouldn't be a big deal regardless, unless you were running the car really hard all the way into your garage and immediately shut it off.

Not sure the pump will circulate oil through the turbo.

If you are driving the car very hard and getting into boost quite a bit, its best to let the car sit for at least a minute while its running. That way the oil can circulate through the turbo and cool down enough to avoid having the oil coke up and mess your turbo up.

If you don't drive the vehicle that hard, then I wouldn't worry about it.
