There is a difference between accelerating and coasting. When coasting, the transmission will attempt to maintain a constant speed (even downhill) by maintaining a specific gear so that you do not need to use the brakes. This is a feature on all modern premium transmissions.

My point dealt with acceleration where you will be in 4+ gear at 30-35 MPH.

Of course, you always have the option of shifting manually.

I've got 4500+ miles on mine and have definitely noticed less transmission jerkiness. However, I still find it difficult to come to a realll smooth stop because of the brakes. Just takes some getting used to I guess.
