Anyone can confirm if the wheel lug head size is 17mm or 19mm?

For a second I thought someone took a video of my car since I live in the area and ride up at this mountain all the time, but I realized the wheels aren't right and I think it is actually black, not deep sea blue like ours. Seeing this makes me want to get a set of winter wheels to mash around in. Maybe once we have a house and some space.

We got about 15" of snow up here in Staten Island 2 nights ago. I put the Q5 through that 15" in the mall parking lot, wet snow, drove straight in and straight out! no problems at all! Love it. and the ESP system is wonderfull too!

Anyone ever use the offroad button on the Q5? I always wondered if it ever really helped in snowy situations.

I am one of those morons who drove the Q5 in the snow with the summers...let's just say I will NEVER do that again...

Offroad button doesn't really help you as it will turn off the EDL and if you are taking the Q5 a bit off the pavement, you will get stuck with cross hunging.

Only time when I used it was when I wanted to have nice slow speed 4 wheel slide around the corner but once speed exceeds 20-30 mph EPS comes on automatically.

Probably not moron, just... well..... anyways at least you admit summers suck...

Sadly I have seen too many posts from Quattro owners writing with the tone that winter tires are not needed with Quattro.

Once you throw in the real winter tires you will learn it to be different like a day and night.

With real winter tires and Quattro I had one of the best winters so far

Drive safe and enjoy the snow.

Yes- I even dumped all the snow from the sidewalk I had to clean onto my driveway, and Q5 came out just fine -my wife (who drives Q5) was afraid Q5 would not make it -no problems in 15" of wet heavy snow.
