How many other folks have had one of their DRL's go out? Mine just went this morning on the way to work. A friend of mine had his (opposite side) go out a couple of weeks ago. I noticed another forum member had his go out (from the "I hate my Q5" thread).
Kind of annoying the the lights that are supposed to never be replaced are the ones that seem to be failing.

Our right side went out. The controller failed. It was very hot outside when it failed (>105 degrees F). The dealer had to order the replacement from Germany.
You can turn them off in the MMI (US models) so that you don't cruise around with a one eyed Q5. However this is for daytime, it will still come on at night.
FIY; The left and right controllers are the same. The dealer swapped ours as part of the diagnosis.

My right side DRL failed. The dealer discovered that the wiring was incorrect for the light module. Audi requested that they return the entire module for further failure analysis.

Good idea. I'm taking it in tomorrow to have it looked at. Guessing it's the controller, per this thread, but the service adviser I spoke to said it's probably corrosion on the bulbs. I told him that was impossible because 1) they're diodes, not bulbs; and 2) the thing has less than 2K miles on it, has spent every night in the garage, and hasn't been exposed to any corrosives (i.e. road salts). We'll see what happens.
